The Makkah skyline at night, hotel towers rising above the lit Haram

Luxury Umrah

As close as 100 m from the Haram, which is what you are paying for

Five-star Umrah from £1,045 per person, double sharing. Every hotel below is named, and every one is listed with the distance you will actually walk — because at this price that is the thing worth buying, and it is the thing most easily exaggerated.

What the money actually buys

Three things change at this tier, and they are worth separating from the star rating itself — a five-star badge a kilometre away buys you less than a shorter walk does.

The walk

Fairmont Makkah Clock Royal Tower is 100 m from the Haram. In practice that is the difference between returning to your room between prayers and staying out because going back is not worth it — which is most of what the premium is for.

The room

Priced double sharing rather than three or four to a room. A large part of the per-person difference between tiers is simply the room rate being split fewer ways, which is worth knowing when comparing a headline price against ours.

The hotel itself

Full service, consistent housekeeping, and staff used to pilgrims rather than to tourists. Unglamorous, and the thing most noticed by anyone travelling with children or an older parent.

The hotels you would actually stay in

Named now rather than at confirmation. 7 pairings are published on the tier page, so a substitution is never the first time you hear a hotel’s name.

What it does not buy

The Haram is as full for a suite as for a quad. In Ramadan and over the last ten nights the courtyards fill regardless of where you are sleeping, and no tier gets you a shorter tawaf or a quieter Rawdah.

A closer hotel helps with the walk and the rest between prayers. It does not change the crowd, the heat, or how long you will queue. Anyone selling a premium Umrah on the promise that it will feel less busy is selling something they cannot deliver — and if that is what you are hoping to buy, a quieter month will do far more for you than a higher tier.

Haram-precinct rooms are the first to go

The closest hotels hold the fewest rooms and sell out earliest, particularly around Ramadan. Tell us your dates and we will confirm what is genuinely available rather than take a deposit and sort it out afterwards.
